8 Den Meeting
12 University of Scouting – Wake Tech (L)
9:30 – 10:30am
22 No Den Meeting – Thanksgiving Break
We will be
having our first camping outing Saturday & Sunday November 5-6th.
It will be at the Falls Lake Recreational Site. You can arrive after 8am on
Saturday. We will leave before Noon on Sunday. We will have activities planned
for both days and a campfire Saturday night. We need some help coordinating the
trip and transporting the equipment, so please let me know if you are interested.
The site
is similar to the Jordan Lake facilities with the lake within walking distance,
and the bath facilities nearby. We should be able to fish and hike and we will
likely have a Ranger come by to do some nature training or a hike. Please sign
up and pay by November 1st. The cost is $8 per person ($2 per meal
if not staying for the entire weekend, free for siblings under 5)
Pack 201 T-shirts are available. The cost is $8.00. Good quality shirts – these are considered Class C uniforms and
are worn at Scouting events when a full uniform isn’t necessary. These also help identify our boys in a crowd
of Scouts.
Nicole Gutierrez is our Popcorn Kernel – THANK
YOU!. The Show & Sell at Lowes went
very well. Thanks to all who volunteered to sell. Please help your Scouts to
sell to their Neighbors, friends etc…
This is our main source of funds to run the Pack and we need everyone to
help. Please see Nicole tonight if you
have any questions. We need all Show & Sell money and order sheets turned
in by Nov. 1st
Luminaria is a special service project which Pack 201
(and most scouts in Cary) does every year.
We need volunteers to help to make sand bags and prepare the kits. Please sign up at the information table tonight
or see Ginger Haroldson, our Luminaria coordinator. (Tigers don’t do
Luminaria).
If you know you are going to be around for the hour
your son is in his den meeting, volunteer in your son’s Den or another Den or
help out with the Pack. Don’t be afraid
to volunteer because you have little ones – bring them along.
Pack 201 expects every parent to volunteer for at
least one event during our scouting year. This could be popcorn, Luminaria,
pinewood derby, Blue and Gold committees.
Cub Scouting is a family program, and our program is only as strong as
the adults who volunteer their time to make the program happen. Please visit
the pack table this evening and sign up for at least one activity.
