We had our
first camping outing November 5-6th
at the Falls Lake Recreational Site. We had a great time and the weather
was great. Most boys caught at least one fish Saturday afternoon. Many thanks
to all the Leaders and Parents that helped out. Special thanks to Laura Sutton
for the great food and hanging in there despite being “under the weather”!!
Please note
– the dates have changed to Feb. 17-19th. We need a camping
coordinator to volunteer or this outing may have to be canceled.
Thanks to all the Scouts and Parents who participated
in the Popcorn sales. We set a Pack record for sales this year. Special thanks
to Nicole Gutierrez for taking on the Popcorn Kernel role!!! Please turn in
all Popcorn money by Dec. 9th. We will be collecting money at
the Pack Meeting and den meetings. If you have not picked up your popcorn or
need more, contact Nicole at 931-9621 or ngutierrez@nc.rr.com
Luminaria is a special service project which Pack 201
does every year. Thanks to Ginger Haroldson for coordinating this for this
year! Thanks also to the Webelos that helped fill sand bags and the parents who
helped put together the kits. If you haven’t distributed the kits yet, please do
so as soon as possible. All Luminaria money is due by Dec. 13th.
Cary Christmas Parade
Pack 201 has participated for many years in the
annual Cary Jaycees Christmas parade in downtime Cary (0.8 mile walk) Scouts
and leaders need to be in full uniform (Santa hats welcomed too!). Parents and siblings are welcome to walk
with us in the parade. We will meet at
the Carrie Beaver’s house at 223 Urban Dr. at about 1:00pm. The parade starts
at 2:00 but they close all the main roads early. The parade ends at Cary Elementary. We will have hot chocolate and other goodies for our scouts and
parents on the right side of the parking lot (usually near the right side of
the big old building on the sidewalk).
It is nice to have a few cars already at Cary Elementary to pick up the
remaining cars at Carrie’s house after the parade.
We will be handing out the Pinewood Derby cars during
the Dec. 6th den meetings. We will have a car cutting session on
Dec. 20th in lieu of a den meeting. We will also have a small
Holiday Party at the same time with snacks & drinks. If anyone is
interested in coordinating some activities, please let Matt Leonhard know.
